what a day to be alive.

when i linked ryan to some baby kicking monitor the other day, he said something about how it seems i’m more excited for the stuff that comes after pregnancy occurs than i am about the actual process of getting pregnant. i said, “you mean the sex part?”

so i’m interested in maternity clothes, and how we’re going to tell our parents when i hit the three-month milestone. so i’m already planning for how i’m going to tell him, and how i (hopefully) won’t be able to drink when we go to hawaii at the end of june. so i’ve already thought of a list of songs i want playing softly in the background during labor. i already know the name we’ll choose if it’s a boy and the name we’ll choose if it’s a girl (…no, i’m not telling yet). don’t all women get this excited when they’re planning a pregnancy?

speaking of that labor cd, i mentioned to ryan that i’d like greg laswell’s “what a day” included on it. there’s one line he sings during the most amazing part of the song that goes “what a day to welcome a baby, to begin breathing.” it’s perfect. every time i hear it, i want to close my eyes and pay attention only to his voice.

then ryan said something about how we should also include “i love rock and roll,” and i laughed and said, “no, no, how about gimme gimme more, gimme more, gimme gimme more…” and then i said, “it’s baby, bitch!” and we both just burst out laughing.

oh little one, you’re just a glimmer in our eyes – a tiny speck of light that doesn’t even physically exist yet, and already we’re so excited to meet you.

preconception poop.

[10:33] bryn: it’s hella weird that the human body morphs liquid into urine
[10:33] stefany: or morphs food into nastiness
[10:33] bryn: yeah!
[10:33] bryn: btw, my poop has been green for like two weeks
[10:33] bryn: GREEN
[10:33] bryn: … was that tmi?
[10:33] stefany: oh my god!!!
[10:33] stefany: I had that too!!!
[10:34] bryn: like army green
[10:33] stefany: the first two weeks i started my prenatal vitamins!
[10:34] bryn: WHOA
[10:34] bryn: that must be it then!
[10:34] stefany: seriously!
[10:34] stefany: like camo green
[10:34] bryn: yeah!
[10:34] bryn: i love relating to you <3
[10:34] stefany: aww, me too
[10:34] stefany: i think the prenatal vitamin clings onto the good green stuff you eat
[10:35] stefany: so, when you poop, it’s green
[10:35] bryn: LOL i imagine little folic acid particles with smiling faces jumping and holding on to the green food
[10:35] brynkathryn: and like yelling to each other to hold on
[10:35] stefanymoenich: LMAO

one for good measure.

ob·ses·sion [uhb-sesh-uhn] – noun

1. the domination of one’s thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image or desire

[08:53] bryn: I WANT IT TO BE MAY.
[08:53] ryan: it’s ok, we’ll get there
[08:53] ryan: i’m excited
[08:53] bryn: it’s weird, i hadn’t been obsessing … until now
[08:53] bryn: i check my ovulation calendar EVERY DAY
[08:54] bryn: american pregnancy does this calendar where it predicts your fertile window and also when your positive pregnancy test can be expected by. so for may, according to my calculations, our postive pregnancy test COULD come back june 4
[08:57] bryn: of course i’d want to miss my period before taking the test
[08:57] bryn: otherwise, it could be a waste
[08:58] ryan: it’s going to be hella creepy expecting to miss it and then actually missing it
[08:58] ryan: since you’re so regular
[08:58] bryn: i know!
[08:58] bryn: i can’t wait

i really am obsessing and i don’t know why. i’m just as excited to get pregnant now as i was a month ago…

maybe the excitement and the urge will grow stronger the sooner it approaches. i can only imagine how crazy i’ll be in april! hopefully with our trip to texas and other activities happening near the end of that month, i’ll have enough going on around me to be distracted by.

but seriously. it’s only the beginning of march and i already bought two HPTs.
